Speedy Granny Ruth Crochet Baby Blanket

As with most blankets, once you get the chain and the first row done, this is a lot of fun to work. Especially when you use a cake that changes colors so that the spikes really stand out. I watched the video before I started and it made the start much easier to understand and I did not have to redo anything! Can't wait to try some others that I purchased, but one blanket at a time!

I just finished your Cakes and Candles pattern. I made it for a friend's first grand baby. Instructions are easy to follow and we'll written. Once I got the pattern going I had it memorized. Basically it is a large fancy granny square. Starting Guzzling Granny next as a lap blanket for my husband.

This pattern was just right for what I wanted. Something quick and easy but also pretty. I made it in color blocks of pale yellow and ivory and it looks like a lemon drizzle cake.
