Black Friday Blowout: Crochet Pattern Bundles From Podcast 175
Black Friday at The Secret Yarnery is my favorite kind of chaos: yarn, patterns, big savings, and a whole lot of crochet talk. In Crochet Podcast Episode 175, I pulled together my most loved blanket, scarf, and hat sets into special Black Friday bundles so you can stock up on patterns for gifts, markets, or just because you love a good hooky project.
In this post, I am walking through every bundle, what is inside, who each set is best for, and how much you save. I am also sharing a bit of family life at the end, including my new Cane Corso puppy and a quick update on my son’s surgery.
Welcome to Crochet Podcast Episode 175
Hi, I am Christa from The Secret Yarnery, and if you are new here, you are very welcome. I hang out on YouTube with crochet podcasts, tutorials, chats, yarn hauls, and all the fun, yarny things.
If you enjoy watching along while you crochet, you can always subscribe to The Secret Yarnery on YouTube so you do not miss new episodes, tutorials, and live chats.
I also have a handy free crochet cheat sheet that helps with hook sizes, yarn weights, and quick reference notes. It is perfect to keep in your project bag.
This Black Friday, the big news is pattern bundles. I pulled together my easiest, most popular designs into themed sets, so you can instantly download them and start crocheting today. And yes, there is a puppy update coming at the end.
Black Friday Blowout: How the Crochet Bundles Work
All of the patterns in these bundles are already full tutorials on my YouTube channel and my blog. The Black Friday part is all about printable PDF patterns and grouped savings.
Here is how the bundles work:
- You get a set number of PDF patterns in each bundle.
- You can download each pattern individually from your account.
- The more patterns inside the bundle, the bigger the savings.
If you love blankets especially, you might also want to browse my full crochet blanket patterns collection. It is packed with granny styles, spirals, gingham, stash busters, and more.
Now let me walk through each Black Friday bundle and what makes it special.
Bundle 1: 10 Mindless Crochet Blankets You Can Make Today
This one is for you if you like easy, one-row repeat blankets that you can work on while chatting, watching TV, or listening to a podcast. No counting every stitch, no complicated charts, just relaxing crochet.
All ten patterns in this bundle are simple, quick, and beginner-friendly. Most of them are granny-style stitches with fun twists or textures. Every pattern has been tested and filmed, and you also get two borders included.
- Regular price for all patterns: $73.50
- Black Friday bundle price: $40
- You get: 10 blanket patterns + 2 borders, so 12 PDFs in total
You can grab the full Black Friday crochet blanket pattern bundle if you want them all in one click.
What “Mindless” Means Here
When I say “mindless,” I mean:
- One-row repeats, so you do the same thing back and forth.
- Easy to memorize after the first few rows.
- Great for movie nights, car rides, or crocheting with friends.
You still get beautiful texture and drape, just without the brain strain.
Patterns Included in the Mindless Blanket Bundle
Drunken Granny 2.0
This is the updated version of my classic Drunken Granny. It has a fresh layout and includes a border right inside the pattern.
It is still that comfy, off-set granny stitch look, only cleaner, and it works up very fast.
Tipsy Granny
The Tipsy Granny is another twist on the classic granny, with a slightly different layout that gives a fun, staggered look. It keeps the same simple rhythm, just with a bit of personality in the stitch placement.
Dirty Granny
Dirty Granny is a playful name for a very easy, textured granny-style blanket. It is still simple to memorize, and it gives a lovely fabric that works for throws, baby blankets, or lap blankets.
Guzzling Granny
If you want a squishy baby blanket with no big holes, this is the one. The Guzzling Granny uses more yarn, so it feels thick, plush, and cozy.
It makes a wonderful baby gift when you want something that feels extra cushy and warm.
Beached Granny
Beached Granny has a softer, almost beachy look to the texture. It is pretty, simple, and very relaxing to make. I love it in gentle colors for a seaside or summer feel, but it works in any palette.
Pin Curl Granny
This one comes with a fantastic border that you can also steal for other blankets. The main stitch and the edging together look very polished, so it is perfect if you like your blankets to have a well-finished frame.
Speedy Granny Ruth Baby Blanket
This might be the fastest blanket in the set. You skip every third stitch, which means about 25% fewer stitches per row.
You still get a full, cozy fabric, but your blanket grows quickly, which makes it perfect for last-minute gifts.
Sober Granny
Sober Granny looks like a corner-to-corner (C2C) blanket at first glance, but it is worked in straight rows. That means you get the visual effect of C2C without dealing with diagonal increases and decreases.
It is easier to manage and simpler for beginners, but it still looks very impressive.
Giant Granny Rectangle Blanket
This is the rectangle version of a giant granny square. You start in the middle and work your way around in continuous rounds, growing a granny rectangle as big as you like.
It is the kind of project you can just keep by the couch and add to when you feel like it.
Bundle 2: 5 Two-Row Repeat Blankets + 2 Borders
If you want something slightly more interesting than a one-row repeat, this bundle gives you two-row repeat patterns that are still easy once you get going.
You only need to remember what you do for Row 1 and Row 2, then you flip between them for the whole blanket. After a few rows, your hands know exactly what comes next.
- Regular price for all patterns: $34.75
- Black Friday bundle price: $20
- You get: 5 blanket patterns + 2 borders (7 PDFs total)
If you like this kind of design, I also share more 2-row repeat crochet blanket ideas on my blog, including the Candy Cradle and similar projects.
Floors and Windows Blanket with Daffodil Border
Floors and Windows has a fun construction. One row is your “floors,” solid and stable. The next row builds the “windows,” a more open section, so it looks a bit like stacking up an apartment block.
The Daffodil Border is included, and it is perfect if you like a floral finish. It uses treble crochet stitches, so it works up quickly and looks delicate without being fussy.
Candy Cradle with Stacking Shell Border
The Candy Cradle blanket looks much more complex than it is. The stitch is a simple two-row repeat, but the finished fabric has a pretty, almost lacy shell feel.
The stacking shell border lets you add as many layers of shells as you want around the edge. You can keep it simple with one round, or go full drama with multiple rows of shells for a very frilly finish.
Coronation Blanket
The Coronation Blanket is one of those patterns that is fun to think about while you are making it. One row creates the “heads,” and the next row “crowns” them.
It has a royal, decorative vibe without being hard to crochet and it works beautifully in both solid and multi-colored yarns.
Cakes and Candles
Cakes and Candles is worked in the round from the center outward. You keep crocheting around and around until you run out of yarn or reach the size you like.
The best part is that it finishes in a pretty scalloped edge, so it does not need a separate border at all. Once you are done with the last round, you are done with the blanket.
Eggtastic
Eggtastic is a fun, textured blanket. I used Caron Simply Soft for mine, but you can use any yarn you like.
The stitch pattern gives a soft, bumpy texture that looks great in both solid and variegated yarns. It is the kind of blanket that is fun to run your hands over.
Bundle 3: Top 10 Gorgeous Crochet Blankets
This bundle is for you if you want a big collection of showpiece blankets. It includes the five two-row repeat blankets, plus several more that are real favorites on my channel.
You get a mix of textures, shapes, and techniques, along with some very special borders.
- Regular price for all patterns: $69.50
- Black Friday bundle price: $45
- You get: 10 blanket patterns + 4 borders
If you love making bigger projects or want to build a library of go-to blankets, this set is a great deal.
Berry Biscuit Blanket with Border
The Berry Biscuit blanket is easily one of my favorite stitches of all time. The texture is soft and bumpy, but not too open, so it is cozy without being heavy.
The included border is a showstopper. It frames the blanket beautifully and really makes the whole project feel extra special. The border alone is worth having in your pattern library.
Tulip Stitch Blanket
The Tulip Stitch gives you neat rows of “tulips” that pop up from the fabric. My version is written to be faster and easier than many other tulip stitch patterns, so you can get the look without wrestling the stitch.
The pattern includes a cute matching border, which finishes off the blanket with a tidy edge and keeps the tulip rows looking clean.
C2C Gingham Blanket
The C2C Gingham Blanket is one of those patterns that makes people say, “Wait, you crocheted that?”
It uses:
- Two strands of yarn held together
- A large hook (around 9 mm)
- Simple color changes to mimic classic gingham fabric
You work corner-to-corner and join the blocks as you go, so there is no crazy joining marathon at the end. It is a great stash buster and a real crowd-pleaser at markets or as a gift.
Granny in a Spiral
Granny in a Spiral is a clever way to use up a smaller amount of variegated yarn. You pair it with a solid color and work in a spiral so the variegated yarn really shines.
Since it is built in a spiral, you do not have to join rounds and step up at the end of each one. You just keep moving in a smooth, continuous motion, which feels very relaxing.
Round Granny in a Spiral
This one takes the spiral idea and turns it into a round granny blanket. It grows outward from the center with simple, regular increases.
You do not need to count every stitch, because the increase spots are easy to see. You can stop at baby size or keep going to make a full-size round throw or bed topper.
If blankets are your happy place, this bundle, together with the full Secret Yarnery blanket patterns gallery, will keep you busy for a very long time.
Bundle 4: Top 8 Crochet Scarves You Can Make
Moving on from blankets, this Black Friday bundle focuses on scarves. These are ideal for gifting, selling at markets, or making quick projects between bigger blankets.
Every scarf pattern in this set has nice straight edges, looks great in many yarns, and is practical to wear.
- Regular price for all patterns: $46
- Black Friday bundle price: $25
- You get: 8 scarf patterns
If you want the entire set in one go, the Black Friday crochet scarf pattern bundle brings them all together.
Oyster Shell Scarf
The Oyster Shell Scarf is a one-ball project, which makes it perfect for that special skein you have been saving. The shell stitch gives a flowing, wavy edge that looks much more complex than it is.
You can dress it up or down, depending on your yarn choice.
Dirty Granny Crochet Scarf
This is the scarf version of the Dirty Granny stitch, turned into a long, cozy piece for your neck. If you like the blanket, you will enjoy the scarf, and it is a great way to try the stitch before committing to a full throw.
Drunken Granny Scarf
The Drunken Granny Scarf includes a pretty border along the edge, which gives it a finished, polished look. It is still very simple to make, and it pairs well with hats and coats for everyday wear.
Coronation Scarf
The Coronation Scarf takes the same idea as the blanket version and turns it into an easy-to-wear piece. The rows stack neatly, the edges stay straight, and the stitch keeps it interesting without being hard.
Speedy Granny Rainbow Scarf
If you do not like sewing in ends, you will love this one. The Speedy Granny Rainbow Scarf uses tassels at the ends so you can hide your tails inside them.
You can change colors often, enjoy all your favorite shades, and skip almost all the weaving in at the end.
Super Easy Beginner Scarf
This scarf uses a big hook and two strands of yarn held together. The result is very squishy, soft, and fast to work up.
It is a great first project for beginners because you can see your stitches clearly and you do not have to worry about fancy shaping.
Pocket Scarf
The Pocket Scarf also uses two strands and a big hook. You can finish it in about a day, including the pockets.
It makes a lovely gift, especially for people who like to keep their hands warm or carry their phone and keys without a bag.
Speedy Granny Ruth Scarf
This is the scarf version of the Speedy Granny Ruth stitch. It works up quickly, has a nice weight, and looks great as a set with the matching hat in the next bundle.
Bundle 5: Top 4 Crochet Hat and Scarf Sets
The last bundle in this Black Friday blowout is all about matching sets. If you like giving coordinated hat and scarf gifts, or selling sets at markets, this one is for you.
- Retail value for all patterns: $35
- Black Friday bundle price: $25
- You get: 4 hat and scarf sets
Each set is written to be approachable, even if you are newer to crochet.
Super Easy Hat and Scarf Set
This is a very beginner-friendly set. The stitches are simple, the shaping is gentle, and the pattern walks you through the steps.
If you have made a few basic rectangles and want to try hats, this is a good next move.
Pocket Scarf With Matching Hat
If you loved the Pocket Scarf in the scarf bundle, this set gives you the matching hat pattern. You can make a coordinated set in a day or two with chunky yarn and a large hook.
It is warm, useful, and looks great in both solid and variegated yarns.
Speedy Granny Ruth Hat and Scarf Set
This set uses the Speedy Granny Ruth stitch for both pieces. The fabric has minimal holes, which makes it a great choice for people who want a more solid, warm set.
In masculine colors, it works very well for men who do not love lacy or openwork stitches.
One-Color Bucket Hat With Matching Scarf
This set features a bucket hat and a matching scarf that I am very proud of. The scarf is designed so that both ends match, which took some figuring out.
It is also my new favorite way of working granny stitches in a scarf shape. If you like clean lines and a polished finish, you will enjoy this pattern.
For yarn, hooks, and tools I use often, I keep a list in my crochet must-haves Amazon store, which can help if you are building a toolkit for these projects.
Family, Puppy, and Life Behind the Hooks
For those of you who follow my podcasts regularly, you know I also chat about life here in Kenya, my kids, and the dogs.
Recently, one of my children had surgery and had a serious allergic reaction to medication afterward. He needed to stay in the high dependency unit at the hospital overnight. It was stressful, of course, but he is home now and recovering well.
While I sat by his bed, I did what many of us do in hard moments: I crocheted. That project kept my hands busy and my mind calmer. I will show that blanket in next week’s podcast.
On the puppy side of life, my brand new Cane Corso has been with us for about a month now. We got him around October 25, and by the time of this episode, it was already past November 25. He is growing fast and is incredibly sweet.
He is pretty much housetrained already, but that is because I am spending almost every minute with him. As any dog person knows, a good puppy reflects the time you put in.
He gets along really well with Dingo, and he is slowly getting used to Churchill. With my older dog, Gun, who is a 14-year-old Rottweiler, we are careful. He keeps a respectful distance, and she appreciates not being bumped by an energetic puppy.
On top of that, I have been in the garden a lot, working on a fish pond project and other outdoor jobs. That means I have been crocheting a bit less during the day, but I will share the pond and garden updates in an upcoming podcast.
And of course, December is almost here, the kids have one more week of school, and I am really looking forward to having them home and doing fun holiday things together.
If you crochet left-handed, you might also like my left-handed crochet tutorials playlist, which walks through many of these stitches step by step.
What Should I Bundle Next?
