The writing in the pattern is too detailed in some respects but not detailed enough in other respects. The long hand style of it is unnecessary. Standard patterns are written just as a list of row by row using abbreviations. This one is in paragraph form which makes it more cumbersome than it needs to be. But at the same time, it leaves out important details about how a row should end. It tells you to keep going with the pattern of 5 dcs and leave 2 spaces “until you get to the end and then dc in the last stitch” but it doesn’t tell you how many stitches to skip before you dc in the last stitch. So if you’ve got an incorrect umber of sts, you won’t know it until the 5 row up when you have to do the leaf pattern again. So it’s taken me a while to get the hang of it, but I think I’ve got it now, after some ripping back. (Not sure how I ended up with the wrong number of sts but I did.)
Also, there is a mistake in the pattern with the V stitch. In one place it tells you dc, ch 1, dc, and in another place it tells you dc. Ch 2, dc.
